Positive Trend Given Campaign.
This action on the part of the
senior Texaa aenator puts an end to
long drawn out speculation and gives
a positive trend to the senatorial cam-
paign which will dispel the air of un-
certainty with which It hus been en-
veloped for weeks past. It la admit-
ted that there has been no crystallisa-
tion of sentiment nor definite lining
up of the Democratic voters and that
tills has been largely due to a gen-
eral desire to await the decision of
Senator Culberson. A definite align-
ment aoon will be apparent.
This announcement makes certain
that Postmaster General Hurleson will
not enter the 1916 campaign a fact
long known to all Texans in Washing-
ton who desired to get the true situ-
ation. It also means that tupner Sen-
ator nalley will be unlikely to become
a candidate thla year.
