Mr. Business Man what are you do-
ing to promote the interests of the
First Monday Trades Day which has
been inaugurated by the Commercial
Association? - Of course you realize
this movement was started (or your
benefit as well as for the benefit of
those coming to this city with their
wares to trade. You should not miss
an opportunity to say something about
this day not just on the Saturday be-
fore but talk it all the time. With
proper advertising this could be made
the greatest of all days in our little
city and will do much to advertise tho
interests of Bryan. If you are not
busy get busy.
Messrs. Steagall and Jarrett are
this week working a large crew on
South Bryan avenue laying curb and
gutters preparatory to the paving of
this street. They also have another
crew busy in the city constructing
sidewalks and the foreman of this
bunch of men says they are putting In
lots of walks but can take care of
many more. They expect in the next
few days to inaugurate a sidewalk
campaign and try to have the resi-
dence districts ready for the free mail
service so that It can start on sched-

Dallas Texas Sept. 28. The first

the winter at the Young 'Men's Chris-
tian Association by the Dallas Adver-
tising League la being held today. A.
0. Chaney who is in charge of tho
classes says that lectures will be
given by men who are connected with
every branch of the advertising work.
The classes will be held every Thurs-
day night until May 3 1917.' They
are open to all who are interested In
advertising work. A nominal charge
will be made to cover the cost of
text books. J. C. Phelps is the
speaker for the first meeting and his
subject will be "Advertising Defined
and Truth the Golden Rule of Advertising."

Georgetown School Opens With
Heavy Enrollment.

Georgetown Texas Sept. 28. The
forty-third annual session of George-
town University began today. En-
trance examinations which began last
Friday have been completed and the
attendance has fulfilled the expecta-
tions of the faculty. Among the new
members of the faculty this year are
Prof. Randolph Kleberg A B. A. M
Texas who has been elected associate
professor in German and Prof. W. S.
Nolms A. B. and A. M. elected in-
structor in mathematic and physics.
