Long Proposed Line Being Consid-
ered by Waco and Beaumont
People.
Waco Texas Jan. 11. With the
idea In view of evolving a plan that
will result In definite action at an
early date C. A. Bland traffic man-
ager of the Beaumont Chamber of
Commeroe conferred here Wednes-
day with the traffic committee of the
Waco Chamber of Commerce regard-
ing the building of the Waco-Beaumont
railroad a project that has been
under consideration for the last few
years but which now seems nearer a
reality than at any time In the past.
Great Interest Is manifested in the
proposed construction of the new
road not only In Waco and Beau-
mont but In all towns to be linked by
the road.
So far two routes have been tenta-
tively considered the distance via
either being about 200 miles. One
survey would carrythe line through
Hardin Tyler Ppfk Trinity Houston
I.eon and Limestone counties the oth-
er serving tm counties of San Jacin-
to LlbertsC Walker Madison Leon
Robertiisj Limestone and Falls.
At tM conference Wednesday It
was decided to have a Joint commit-
tee composed of three members each
representing the Waco and Beaumont
chambers of commerce this commit-
tee to meet In the near future to
make such recommendations as are
deemed best to the citizens of the va
rious counties Interested. This con-
ference. It Is believed will be hold In
