interesting; the tainl&tnre beasts

the exhibition hngely. It is simply
impossible in this harried manner
to give a detailed description of
this lovely prediction of the in-
dustry taste and ingenuity of the
citizens of Texas but the thing as
a whole is simply wonderfal. The
First Ward School 'ud Waco Fe

old-fashioned fireplace and hang-

beauty. We noticed a picture
made of different grains repre-
senting a negro with & banjo sere-

An exquisite feature of the
Spring Palace is the "Golden
Boom" carpeted with braided
corn shucks the wall adorned
with a uet-work of popped corn
strong in checks. This room con-
tains an ordinary sized piano made
of pnmpkin or squash seed a sofa
of cotton a center table of grain
with waving draperies of strung
wheat straw and popped corn
The whole effect is simply lovely.
One department where "Warren
Institute pays its tribute" is very
amusing. The old-fashioned

switch on her desk over quite a
number of life-sized nnnils. Teach-

the Texas products. There are
numbers of polished horns taken
from Texas cattle that seem al-
most incredibly largo. Every
beauty of stuffed bird and animal
native to onr state is here and a
splendid collection of these from
Tarrant coanty. A sail boat made
of shells from the coast was very
fine. The lovely representation!
of the ''Island City" lying on the
shore of a miniature bay of real
water with its dancing boats
spreading their white sail3 was to
me. the fairest picture of all. A
large handsome anchor above the
same was made also ot grain
There is a very rarm place in my
heart for .Galveston and I stood
longest and with a full heart before
this faint but beautiful picture of
my old home. Our exhibit from
Taylor county stands high among
others and attracts much attention.
It is past midnight and we leave
for Galveston af six to-morrow
morning. We are greatly indebt-
ed to Mr. Bryan and. Mr. Thomp-
son for their courtesy end assist-
ance in our visit to the Spring
Palace rnd we are more than glad
that they are both going on to
Galveston to-morrow. I will
write again from that place.
