you try to park on the other

not a left-turn. So beware. It
cost us $23.

they are calling me."
Has real exercise totally

The buzz around town:
Holiday Inn or other national
motel chains might be
interested in locating in
Bastrop when they see the
occupancy rates the two
local motels have, but the
fact that no liquor licenses
are granted is keeping them
out. Doesn't Bastrop need
some well done Welcome
signs at the entrance to the
city? But who would pay for
them. And among the
businesses we need here,
wouldn't a sign painting shop
do well?

If
Bloodmobile stop
scheduled for Bastrop
Hie bloodmobile operated
by Central Texas Regional
Blood Center of Austin will
be in Bastrop Thursday,
Sept. 21 between 9 a.m. and
noon, at the Citizens State
Bank.
The Blood Center, a blood
supplier to 26 hospitals in 11
Central Texas counties, is a
nonprofit organization that
depends on volunteer blood
donors to supply the 80 to
100 units of blood needed by
patients in these hospitals,
every day.
"Finding that many blood
donors every day of the
week is a very tune
consuming and sometimes
difficult task," said Jack
Knight, director of donor
relations for the Blood
Center.
"Patients in the Central
Texas area used some 22,000
units of blood in 197". If our
projections hold true they
will use some 25.000 units of
blood in 1978. Right now we
don't have that much blood
If only one half of ail the
eligible blood donors, those
people between the ages of
17 and 66 who are in good
health, donated one time per
year, our hospitals would
have all the blood they need.
The alternative if local
donors do not come forward
we ha\e to turn to other
sources, which means an
added expense to all." says
Knight ■
The American Associ
ation of Blood Banks says 6
out of every 10 will need a
blood transfusion in their
lifetime."
