a five minute brainstorm
(apologies to Gertrude Stein)
they say that i have talent but i know that i do not have
talent because i know that i do not have talent and in my
subconscious mind i know that i am right whether or not i
am right.
some will say that i am using a lot of repetition but what of
it for that is what all the classics did and everyone thought
that they were great.
but to get back to the progressive point i will interpolate this
article with the word ability as synonomous with talent be-
cause they both mean the same thing only they don't because
no two things are alike and if they both meant the same thing
they would be exact duplicates and no two things are alike.
many questions could be asked about ability as to whether
or not it is a virtue or a vice but it really wouldnt make much
difference because the most important thing about anything is
the why of it and everyone knows that why is a very perplex-
ing problem.
ability is not ability according to the common conception that
people have of the term because when they speak of ability
they often mean that ability is ability plus other things such as
work which are not really important anyway because ability
or talent is what you can do whether you do it or not.
