The Smith Public Library is located in Wylie and was established in 1970 by Rita and Truett Smith. Since then, it has grown from a small space in a local bank building to a full-service library, providing story time programs, computer classes, book clubs, and special events.

Spanning Collin and Dallas counties and three newspaper titles, this collection represents the history of the communities and aims to preserve their cultural identity. Funded by a TexTreasures grant.
The Collin County Area Newspaper Collection represents the history of Collin County from 1860-2012, across twenty-four newspaper titles, contributed by nine partners.
The Texas Digital Newspaper Program (TDNP) partners with communities, publishers, and institutions to promote standards-based digitization of Texas newspapers and to make them freely accessible.
