Lieutenant Bay returned to the Identification Bureau about 7:00 and.
started checking the rifle for prints, two fingerprints were found on ta@
side of the rifle near the trigger and magazine housing and a palm print
was found on the underside of the gun barrel near^ the end of the ^ stock..
It appeared probable these prints were fron the right pals and .fingers of
Lee Uarvay Oswaldf but the rifle was released to the f.B.l. to be sent to
;ashingtOA. -I. 0. before the examination was completed and positive ident-
ification of the prints could he made. The prints were not very good for
c omp arison purpos# s *
Paraffin casts were made of Oswald*s hands and the right aide of his face
about 9j00 1.11. Hovem.ber 22, 1963$ in the Homicide Bureau office by
iarge&nt . . v. Barnes 598 and Detective J. B. ■ticks. £&©#• oasts were
sent to DCCOXL November 23, 1963 for nitrate tests.
All other evidence collected .by the Grine .Scene search was released at
11145 3P#ff. Iloveaber 22, 1963 to Agent vine® Drain to be delivered to the
f.B.l. headquarters at Washington, B*0.
