Hi
Community invited to soldier's homecoming
The community is invited to help
welcome Marine Lance Corporal
Wesley Durbin back home ftom his
tour of duty in Iraq during the 9:30
a.m. worship service Palm Sunday,
March 20. at Faith Lutheran Church
Wylie.
A reception will follow the ser-
vice.
"When Wesley left for Iraq last
Spring, he said he wanted to see 150
people attending the service when he
got back." said the Rev. Michael
Frick. Faith Lutheran Wylie's pastor.
"Wesley returned to U. S. soil at the
end of February and will be back
home in Texas in mid March. So the
members of Faith Lutheran intend to
honor his request. "
According to Frick. the church's
average weekly attendance currently
runs about 50.
"That means we have to encourage
all those who don't show up every
Sunday to be present on Palm
Sunday." he said. "We also want to
invite the entire community to help
us honor Wesley's request and gather
to thank God for protecting Wesley
through the battle of Fallujah and
Silver Scene by Dixie Dickson

Mystery time has sure attracted a
good group, and they are all
"Sherlock Holmes" when it comes to
solving these mysteries. It is fun and
takes about 30-45 minutes. Join us
for the intrigue.
Now while all this was going on
with Cynthia and Roy riding shot-
gun for me at the Center. I was in
Corpus Cnristi soaking up the sun,
eating seafood, and learning more
than I need to know. I was attending
the TR A PS. (Texas Recreation and
Parks Society) Convention. I attend-
ed as many sessions as 1 could
squeeze into my time down there and
I hope I brought back some good
ideas.
I know I certainly left some good
ideas with my co-horts. I made con-
tacts with other Senior Centers to
feed from and them from me All in
all. it was a very worthwhile time.
We were able to visit several of the
tourist attractions of Corpus, mainly
because they held the sessions there.
The first evening we went to a
seafood bonanza at The Aquarium, a
throughout the war and granting our
Marine a safe return home."
Wesley is the son of Randy and
Carole Durbin of Dallas.
