The members brought their needle
work and the afternoon was spent very
informally and delightfully.

and individual cakes 'in refreshment.

Aid Society.
The Aid Society of the Austin Ave.
Presbyterian church spent a very
pleasant afternoon on Monday when
Mrs. W. L. . Petty was hostess at her
attractive home on Main avenue.
; Mrs. Petty favored ferns and spring
blooms for her house decorations and
these flowers were massed in pretty
springtime effect. The dining table
was a beautiful Easter creation.
Mrs. J. R. Stone the. president pre-
sided over the meeting. Rev. SL R.
Itives led the devotional and after a
prayer a very helpful and splendid
talk by Rev. Rives was greatly enjoy-
ed and appreciated.
The minutes of the last meeting
were read and the roll call was re-
sponded to by nearly every member
of the society. .
A very favorable report of the year's
work was read by the secretary Mrs.
Cpleman Spratt.
Every one present promised to make
cakes and pies for the Easter apron
and pastry sale at the Petty Brothers
garage on April 10th.
The election of ofllcors was dis-
cussed but on account of the social
hour this matter 'was withheld until
the next meeting.
One new member was reported af-
ter which the business meeting was
closed with the Lord's prayer.'
Mrs. Petty has arranged- a splendid
program which was composed of won-
derful talent from the neighborhood.
A dainty .refreshment plate of ice
cream and angel -food cake was pass-
