points. It was stated in this connec-
tion that a heavy rain set in on the
bayou four miles southeast . of
Browmvood and continued over a
largo scope -of country and that the
country between Bangs and Trickham

reported in the Fort Worth country
but did not reach as far ag Dallas.
Mount Zion neighborhood between
Bangs and Trickham was reported
well soaked." Old timers -were of the
opinion today that there would. be
more rain within the next day or so.
The Encampment branch of the lo-
cal lodge Odd Fellows were hosts
Friday- night to the Odd Fellows and
Rebckahs at a movie skov brought
here from Corsicana for the express
purpose of showing .in detail the
splendid work being done by the OcltVj
Fellow Orphans' Home located in that
city. The pictures' which have been
prepared in a somewhat lengthy ser-
ies give in an admirable way he
history and inside working of the
home as it could be given in no other
way except to visit the home itself
und go through it on personal inspec-
tion. Every detail of the home is
pSVen-; the care shown the inmates;
the inmates at varldus kinds of work
in schol Sunday school church and
in various other useful and necessary
capacities. E. Q. Vestal Grand Scribe
of Texas was present and expressed
himself as being delighted with tho
imi-rrssion created by bringing the
pictures to the Brownwood lodge.
Tonight there will ho a special sas-
bion in which degree work in three
degrees will be prt on by Grand
Scribe Vesta) and it is expected that
candidates . wijl he present ' from
Brady Dublin Srnta Ann.a May and

has moved to Brownwood and will
henceforth bo a citizen and booster
for this part of the country Mr.
Weatherbyr is a native of Goldthwaite
hut. for the past few years- has been
engaged in the oil business at Sipe
Springs and other field? in the central
west He has during his connection
with thp oil industry formed an ex-
tensive acquaintance and he believes
he will be easily able to induce many
of these acquaintances to cast their
future fortunes In the Brownwood
area because in the opinion of Mr.
Weatherby this is now one of the
most attractive parts of Texas. Mr.
Weatherby -will make it his particular.
business to locate people in Brown
county who desire permanent and
pleasant homes in good localities and
his .wide acquaintance will enable
him to- accomplish this purpose eas-
ily and in. a satisfactory way to all
parties concerned because added to
his vast acquaintance ho under-
stands the conditions that prevail in
this -section witli reference to land
homes schools und churches. His

Islands . attracted a great deal ot at-
tention on the streets of Brownwood
today. The car was occupied by Mr.
and Mrs. O. Porter and Cirilio Olidano
and wife native Filipinos. The car

arrived at Vancourver British Colum-
