LAKE LA VON TO USE
PARK ATTENDANTS AGAIN THIS SUMMER
The Army Corps of Engineers at Lake
Lavon plans to use live-in park attendants
to oversee camp areas again this summer.
The gate attendant program was first
initiated at Lake Lavon last summer and
was highly favored by overnight campers
visiting the Lake and retired couples who
were able to supplement their income by
providing park attendant services. The
park attendants are to be secured by
contract to oversee the camp areas for a 3
to 5 month period beginning 25 May 1977.
Responsibilities or duties of the park
attendants include issuing user permits to
campers, providing general information to
visitors, and maintaining 16 hour
surveillance of the camp areas, six days
per week. The attendants are required to
furnish a camp trailer or motor home not
longer than 2K feet, and live on the site. A
pad for the trailer or motor home, along
with utilities (electricity, water and
sewage) will be furnished by the
Persons interested in providing park
