Sachse Assembly to Open
New Building Sunday
Pastor Rick DuBose will see
a dream fulfilled Sunday, Jan.
31, when he strides out of his
new office, past the choir
room, up the steps, and onto
the sanctuary stage of the
new Sachse Assembly of God
Church.
The half-million-dollar.
18,000 square-foot addition
has been completed, thanks
to the efforts of many
members, who donated their
time and expertise. Some
jobs were contracted.
The auditorium, which will
seat around 400, has the
capacity of eventual seating
for 800 by opening the
balcony.
Mauve and teal are the soft
colors throughout. Pews, the
last major addition, were due
to be installed early this week.
Randy Ruiz of Springfield,
MO, who is well-known in
gospel singing circles, will be
the first speaker/singer in the
formal opening at morning
services on Jan. 31. The
community is invited to
attend.

Ruiz has appeared several
times with gospel artist
Carmen, drawing crowds of
20,000 to 30,000.
Ruiz will return to conduct a
revival at the Sachse church
in August.
Services are at 10:45 a.m.,
preceded by Sunday School
at 9:30. The evening service
is at 6 p.m.
Plans call for the dedication
and open house on March 7.
According to Pastor
DuBose, children who attend
Sunday School cover the
entire Bible in seven years.
Starting with the book of
Genesis three years ago, the
pastor is presently teaching I
Samuel.
The youthful minister has
been busy since starting with
some 20 members back in
'87. Attendance is currently
around 200 - and growing.
One of the most active
members, Edith Bailey, says
she feels like she's "come a
long way." She remembers
the plank floor, stove in the

A-Bow-K Florist and owner, Bonnie Hanslip of Sachse,
walked away with top honors second year in a row at the
Dallas Cup competition of the Dallas Allied Florists Association
held at Richardson Women's Club recently. Bonnie's mobile
arrangement featured a spiral of hot pink and purple flowers
and greenery suspended on a copper frame. Next, she'll enter
the State of Texas competition in the Home and Garden Show
at Market Hall in March. A-Bow-K is located on Belt Line, just
off Brand Road in Garland
