Dallas History Conference
An opportunity for lovers of Dallas history
to share the fruits of recent research during a one-day conference
open to the general public.

THEME:
Twentieth-Century Dallas
CALL FOR PAPERS:
he Conference organizers welcome proposals from both professional and nonprofessional
historians on topics related to the theme: "Twentieth-Century Dallas."
We want to examine individuals or events that transformed Dallas from a regional
center, the self-styled "Queen City of the Southwest," to "Big D," the eighth-largest city in the
United States, during the past 100 years. All papers must be based on original research. All
presenters will receive an honorarium of $300, and the best papers will be published in a
subsequent issue of Legacies. A History Journal for Dallas and North Central Texas.
Those interested in presenting a paper should submit a brief summary of their proposal by
FEBRUARY 1, 2000, to "Dallas History Conference, 1717 Gano St., Dallas, TX 75215."
Those selected will be notified by March 1, 2000.
