Dallas is Love helps soldier pop the question
LOS ANGELES - Sgt. Jasmine
Chopra of the U.S. Army can now
breathe a sigh of relief since she has
completed one of the biggest mis-
sions of her life - proposing mar-
riage to her soldier boyfriend.
Dec. 7, Chopra courageously
popped the big question via a
mobile billboard to her long-time
best friend, now fiance, Sgt. Luis
Delgadillo on the campus of her
alma mater, Chapman University in
Orange, Calif., with the assistance
of Robbins Bros., World's Biggest
Engagement Ring Store®, and
Dallas is Love.
"Marriage was the last thing on
my mind," said Chopra. "And now.
I'm the one who proposed! Luis
helped me realize that I can contin-
ue to be an outspoken, vibrant,
powerful woman, yet still find com-
fort and pleasure in being complete-
ly in love and interdependent."
It's not every day that a mobile
billboard is utilized to profess one's
profound love for another, and
when Delgadillo landed his eyes
upon the crimson billboard that

read, "Luis, Will You Marry Me?
Love, Jasmine," he became wide
eyed and had to re-read the bill-
board to make certain that those
enduring words were directed
toward him.
After catching his breath,
Delgadillo effortlessly uttered the
words, "Of course I will." Once he
responded, Steve Robbins, chief
engagement officer at Robbins
Bros., provided him with an
engagement ring for Chopra, and
being the remarkable, fearless gen-
tleman Sgt. Delgadillo is, he took
control of the proposal at that point
and dropped to one knee to ask for
Chopra's hand in marriage with the
one-carat, princess-cut solitaire she
had selected on his behalf.
"He is one of the most affable,
joyful people I know," Chopra said.
"He is also a natural born leader and
always leads from the front, fear-
lessly taking on missions that others
might shrink away from. He makes
me want to be a belter soldier."
As part of its A Soldier's Perfect
Holiday Marriage Proposal pro-
gram, Robbins Bros, joined forces
with Dallas is Love to identify mil-
itary men and women who were
looking to propose to their signifi-
cant other this holiday season. The
proposal program was implemented
by Robbins Bros, to show its appre-
ciation for the sacrifices made by
our military men and women serv-
ing our country. Through Dallas is
Love, Robbins Bros, received
requests from military personnel
serving overseas asking for assis-
tance in proposing to their girl-
friends and in the case of Sgt.
Chopra, boyfriend.

convert into gift certificates to ben-
efit the four branches of the mili-

Girls Scout cookie time begins Jan. 11
Every year, millions of girls across
the United States gain valuable
knowledge while providing the com-
munity with a special treat - Girl
Scout Cookies.
Locally, the Girl Scout Cookie
Program begins Jan. 11.
Two new cookies join the cast this
year: Lemon Chalet Cremes and
Sugar Free Chocolate Chips. Other
cookies available include Do-Si-Dos,
Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, All
Abouts and Thin Mints.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is
an integral part of the Girl Scouts'
Business and Economic Literacy ini-
tiative for girls in first through 12th
grade, according to information pro-
vided by the Girl Scouts.
"What started out as a bake sale
has turned into a sophisticated lead-
ership program where girls learn
valuable life and business skills: goal
setting, public speaking, teamwork,
brand awareness, responsibility,
money and time management, finan-
cial literacy and grassroots entrepre-
neurship in its finest form," said
Natalie Arnold, director of marketing
for Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas.
Essentially, the girls run their own
business. The entire troop seis a goal
and follows a plan leading toward
that goal. Girl Scout (mops use funds
from the Cookie Program to fund
service projects, exciting educational
field trips, and other leadership acti\ -
ities. Arnold said.
