The plan for the circus on page CUB 4
MAY includes Bike Rodeo events. Ob-
viously, however, it would be better to
have the Bike Rodeo on another day.
The bicycle program committee and
each den leader will need a copy of the
Cub Scout Bicycle Safety Program
Leader's Guide. Get copies from your
council service center. Details for con-
ducting the program are in that booklet.
Also see Cub Scout Activities which
has a Bike Rodeo program. You may ask
your police department to help.
DEN PROJECTS
Den meetings will be full of action
this month as your Cub Scouts learn
about bicycle safety and prepare for the
pack circus. For the bicycle safety pro-
gram, you will need a copy of Cub Scout
Bicycle Safety Program Leader's Guide,
which includes all ideas for den meet-
ings. Ask help from your den chief or a
den dad in obtaining tools.
Circus Acts and Sideshows. Check the
ideas illustrated on these pages and
CUB 5 AUG. They will suggest acts for
the main ring and sideshow that your
Cub Scouts may want to do. Also con-
sider these ideas:
• Animal Trainer—equipped with
whip or chair, with lions and tigers
jumping through hoops, walking a
board "tight-rope," climbing washtub
stands, etc. As a finale, have the animals
make the trainer jump through a hoop.
• Trained animals—which dance,
count by pawing the ground, and
answer questions by shaking the head.
• Jugglers—who pantomime juggling
