HOLIDAY GREETINGS
As I traveled across the country this past
year as your Chief Scout Executive, I had
the privilege of meeting and talking with
thousands of you volunteer Scouters.
What impressed me most was your warm
and sincere dedication to our shared
ideals. And though I was away from home,
I was never away from my larger family of
Scouting friends.
Through Scouting magazine I have the
chance to greet and thank all of you that I
was unable to meet with in my travels or at
our home office.
Because of your continuing help and
faith in our movement, our members will
share unforgettable Scouting adventures.
They will gain a strength of character that
will sustain them throughout their lives.
And, because of men and women like you,
they will be guided by ideals of love and
brotherhood that the world so desperately
needs.
In the spirit of the holidays, I wish you
joy and peace, and God's blessings on the
noble work that you have undertaken for
our young people.
Very sincerely,
Alden Barber
Chief Scout Executive
