Postcard created from a painting of Bishop's Tawton by H.B. Wimbush. It pictures a road passing theough a village. Description on the back reads, "Bishop's Tawton. This pretty little village is reputed to have been a former seat of the Bishops of Devonshire, whose picturesque church, shown here, has some fine monuments and a very striking belfry screen. Behind it rises Coddon Hill(630 feet high), from whicha fine view may be had. Barnstaple proper lies two miles further on." Correspondence reads, "With best wishes C.W.B."
