ANDERSON COUNTY - The George W. Fitzgerald Family

The children of George W. and Cristina FITZGERALD brought a law suit on 28
January 1870 (Anderson County Book N, page 115) trying to reclaim their
mother's portion of the homestead that their father sold to John M.M. PINSON.
The suit states "That on 13 September 1875 and on 21 June 1876, by two deeds
of conveyance that the said J. M. PINSON sold and conveyed to W. L. ADAMS
the above mentioned lands, title in and to same which two deeds are upon
record in County Clerk of Anderson County Book R, page 583 and Book T, page
48."
The children of George W. FITZGERALD, born ca 1813 in Maury County, TN and
died 2 October 1875, and Cristina McINTOSH FITZGERALD, born ca 1816 and died
February 8, 1868 in Anderson County, TX are:
1. Nancy FITZGERALD, born ca 1835, TN.
2. William Nelson, born ca 1837, TN and died July 1876 in Grayson County, TX.
He married Mrs. Mary A. LOUDER FITZGERALD, widow of John N. FITZGERALD
on 7 July 1868 in Anderson Co.
3. John B. FITZGERALD, born ca 1838, TN and died during the Civil War.
4. Christopher Columbus FITZGERALD, born ca 1840, TN and died during the
Civil War,
5. Alexander McKENSIE or McKenzie ALEXANDER (called Mackee) born 21 September
1840 or 1842 in TN, died 8 June 1921 in Hale County, TX. He married 20
February 1870 to Mary Eliza FITZGERALD (first cousin).
6. Jane A, FITZGERALD, born ca 1844, TN, died 1877 in Anderson County. She
married first to Elias B. CORDER and had one daughter Cristina CORDER.
After the death of E. B. CORDER and the death of her sister-in-law Sarah
(CORDER) McCOOL, Jane married the widower of Sarah, Maston McCOOL and had
two children, James McCOOL and Belle McCOOL. (The 1870 census has two
children of Maston and Sarah McCOOL. They were Martha McCOOL, age three
and Charles W. McCOOL, age four months.)
7. James E. FITZGERALD, born 25 May 1845, TN and died in Hale County, TX on
28 October 1832. He had lived in Wise County before moving to Hale County.
He married 20 September 1871 in Anderson County, TX to Mary Jane EVANS.
8. George W. FITZGERALD, Jr. born ca 1848. TN and died 1926 in Anderson County
TX. He married first on September 1875 to May J. HEATH and married second
to Margaret FELTON on 6 January 1890.
