1917. He was a boatman. Married Oct. 19, 1880, Sarah Elizabeth Athens, b. in Wyandotte, Kans., Oct.
22, 1857, d. Dec. 9, 1937. This couple had three children born on October 14. This information was
recorded by Robert Armstrong on April 12, 1915. James Armstrong's wife was Nellie Wilkerson, b.
Aug. 30, 1889, d. Feb. 5, 1960. Children of Robert & Sarah Armstrong:
(1) James, b. Oct. 14, 1881, d. Jan. 19, 1960.
(2) John, b. March 26, 1883, d. May 5, 1925
(3) Robert L., b. Dec. 12, 1884.

Grandfather Cornelius Byrd Wilkerson, b. 1882, d. 1962. He was a wagonmaker and
blacksmith. His wife, Annette Armstrong, b. Sept. 19, 1886, d. 1964. (Grandmother Armstrong (Nettie)
Wilkerson's brother married Grandfather Byrd Wilkersn's sister, making the offspring double cousins.
