March 26. 1994: Victoria Genealogical Seminar
Desmond Walls Allen, a nationally recognized genealogist, will be the featured speaker
at a spring seminar on March 26, 1994, sponsored by the Victoria County Historical
Commission. Seminar topics will be "Picking Up the Problem Line" from 9:00-12:00 a.m.,
"Confederate Military Records" from 1:00-2.15 p.m., and "Public Domain Land Records"
from 2:30-3:45 p.m. The seminar will be held in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 4106 N. Ben

Richard L. Hooverson will present a seminar at the North Texas Genealogical and
Historical Association on Saturday, April 16, 1994. His topics will include (1) The Roots
Revolution: Getting Started in Genealogy; (2) Today I've Got to Get Organized: Doing It
Correctly the First Time; and (3) Using Time Effectively: Researching the Most Important
Sources. The seminar will be held at the Church of Christ, 10th & Broad streets, in Wichita

Midland Society's Spring Seminar will be held on Saturday, April 23, 1994, from 8:30

D. Bockstruck, Head of the Genealogy Division, Dallas Public Library, will be the featured
speaker. His topics will be: War of 1812, Finding Your Immigrant Ancestor, Finding
Substitutes for Birth and Death Records, and Tennessee Valley Research. For additional
