May 7. 1994. Mary Collie Cooper to speak in San Antonio
Mary Collie Cooper will speak from 9:00 a.m. to noon, on Saturday morning, May 7
at San Antonio's Downtown Public Library Auditorium. Her topic will be "Libraries and
Archives - The Differences and How To Research in Each." The cost is only $7.00. Mail your

May. 28, 1994: Ward Family Reunion.
If you are a descendant of M.L. & Eliza Francis (Smith) Ward, you will want to attend
the Ward Family reunion scheduled from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 1994, at
the Dixie Electric Power Association Bldg. on Highway 84, East of Laurel, Mississippi. Ward
descendants are invited to come, meet other family members, and enjoy a day of fun, good
food, and fellowship. Don't forget to bring a covered dish!
June 1-4. 1994, National Genealogical Society Conference in the States
The 1994 NGS Conference in the States, "Exploring a Nation of Immigrants -- Houston
Style" will be held with the cooperation of the Clayton Library Friends.
True to Texas legend, the 1994 National Genealogical Society Conference in the States
promises to be the biggest and the best. You must attend to enjoy the rich selection of lectrues,
workshops, seminars, social events and exhibits at the beautiful George R. Brown Convention

June 11-12. 1994: Hogg Family Genealogical Society.
The Hogg Family Genealogical Society will hold its second annual meeting on
Saturday and Sunday, June 11-12, 1994, at the New Southern Motor Inn, Highway 69 South at
Rusk, Tex., in Cherokee County. The meeting will be in conjunction with the Fifth Annual
Genealogical Workshop of the Jim Hogg State Historical Park. The Jim Hogg Park has been
for a few years the repository for all HOGG information. The Park is now a two-day a week,
daytime park with Ranger John Garbutt who is still collecting HOGG family information. It is
located at Route 5, Box 80, Rusk, 7X 75785. There is no charge for the workshop and it is not
necessary to be a member of the HFGS to attend. For further information write or call Carol
