One of the most delightful things about A. C. C. is her location.
Abilene is an elegant little city of about 13,500 people. Her citizenship is
exceptionally good as to culture and morals. They are enthusiastic friends
and supporters of our College. They make possible our school paper, THE
OPTIMIST and THE PRICKLY PEAR. They have never "turned us
down" on anything for the upbuilding of our College.

lI have every convenience and comfort of a modern city. Carnegie library with
its thousands of books, trained and courteous librarians. The very best
Lyceum Courses. An opportunity to hear the best there is in music, and the
best platform men of the world. A feast of educational things, to be found
in few towns, is offered throughout the year in Abilene.
Abilene is situated in the center of Agricultural West Texas, with ideal
climatic conditions conducive to health and comfort; moral, social and intellectual
environment equaled by few and excelled by none. Altitude 1700 feet.
Twelve miles paved streets. Fifty-two miles paved roads. Taxable property
$5,000,000.00. Combined capital, surplus and deposits of her banks
$3,000,000.00. Annual wholesale business $15,000,000.00. Value of schools,
colleges and churches $1,500,000.00. Value of manufacturing plants $2,000,000.00.
There are no saloons, pool halls or public vices of any kind. Abilene
