i Miss Etelka Evans read an excel-
lent paper on Russian musicians, j
; telling of their great contribution j
| to music, some of the greatest in j
j the world, and told in detail of
! Tschaikowsky, the greatest of these |
and played his composition, An-
I dante Cantabile, on the violin, with
j Miss Winfield at the piano.
Miss Harriet Mae Crenshaw told
interestingly of the Russian Ballet,
and it watt., a surprise to many to
find that it started from two Amer-
ican girls who danced in Russia.
The last number was a piano se-
lection, Valse Tristi, Sivelius, by
Miss Deana Winfield. Before
playing she gave the story of the
piece, which made it most enjoy-
able. The gift to the artists, from
the club, presented by the presi-
dent, Mrs. John C. Granbery, who
also introduced them, were baskets
filled with yellow jonquils and ivy.
After this, delightful refresh-
ments of creamed mushrooms and
chicken en patti, hot biscuits and
a enp of pineapple ice wereserved.

In conclusion, let us note the to-
tal number of complete failures,
that is, those who failed to make
the minimum amount of work re-
quired in order to remain in col-
lege. Only three students during
the last term failed completely. In
comparison with other colleges, es-
pecially the University of Texas,
we find that the percentage of com-
plete failures in Southwestern is
very small indeed, something less
than .009 per cent. Freshman.
