PATIENCE
James 1:4 "Let Patience Have Her Perfect Work.."
Patience is a mark of the Christian life. It is also one
of the greatest needs of every Christian today. Our
motto today is, "Make it snappy." We streamline
everything we do.
What is Patience? Patience is the ability to wait. The
poet said, "Learn to labor and to wait." We have
learned to labor but not to wait. Isaiah 40:31 says
"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their
strength." Patience means resignation. It is to resign
ourselves to the will of God for us and not give up. Job
. said, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him." It is to
be patient and not complaining. Patience means
. endurance. So many thing that this virtue is just to fold
your arms, wait and do nothing. In reality it means to
get under the load and remain under until victory is
achieved.
We need patience in the home, in business, in school,
in church and everywhere we find ourselves.
When under great disappointment we need patience.
Often when men fail they give up and quit. With the
right kind of patience we accept the disappointments
of life, gird up our loins, and tackle the job which
awaits us. When things are moving slow we need to be
patient. The parent is patient with the dull child. The
teacher is patient with the slow student. God is patient
with us all. Often we can't see much progress in our
Christian work. When this is evident, we never need
patience more. We must keep on working and God will
give the victory in His own time.
Be patient. Learn to wait. Learn to keep on keeping
on even when things are moving slow." Let Patience
Have Her Perfect Work."
