CEDAR HILL ISD NEWS BRIEFS
Board candidates' workshop Feb. 21
A free workshop is being offered to citizens that
have an interest in serving on the Cedar Hill ISD
Board of Trustees. The workshop is open to the
public and is scheduled for Feb. 21. from 9-11 a.m.
in the Cannady Board Room of the Municipal
Government Center located at 285 Uptown Blvd.
in Cedar Hill.
The workshop provides opportunities for inter-
ested residents to learn more about the demands
and rewards of serving as a member of the Board
of Trustees. Boardmembers not up for re-election
this May will provide information regarding the
election process, time commitment, issues
addressed and the board's operating procedures.
While attendance at this workshop is not a
requirement to run for election May 9, it is encour-
aged as it will answer many of the questions typi-
cally asked about running for the Board of
Trustees. Individuals who are unable to attend the
Prospective School Board Candidate Workshop
may still receive the informational packet that is
used during the session from the superintendent's
office. Applications to run for a board position are
also included in the packet and may be picked up
in the superintendent's office during normal busi-
ness hours until March 9.

ing achievements along with
reading comprehension tips for
the parents. Door prizes will
include African-American Read
In bags, T-shirts, books and
