A REVIVAL WE SEEK
The area-wide ' Crusade for Christ" which begins
next Sunday night is another reminder of our need for
revival. In II Chronicles 7:14, God promoses to send a
revival that will save us and heal our land, if we
"humble ourselves, pray and seek His face." Revival
will not come until and unless God's people humble
themselves and pray.
Just as Habakkuk the security-guard whom God
used as His prophet, was assured that revival would
come in his time, we can be assured of revival. Crime
and civil disorder were rampant in the prophet's time,
as they are in ours. The need for revival was never
more apparent.
(1) We need a revival of conviction. We must be
convicted regarding the importance of God in our daily
lives, aware of the fact that He is always present in our
hearts with the assurance of power, peace, and pros-
perity.
(2) Before revival comes, there will have to be a
revival of consecration. We must consecrate, or devote
to God's service our time, our ability, our energy and
our money. Unless we dedicate our all to God's work,
we cannot expect to be filled with the power of His Holy
Spirit. If we devote our all to Him, He will give His all to
us. This is certainly a good bargain for us!
(3) There must be a revival of compassion. Com-
passion is the emotion that causes us to suffer with
people, to sympathize with them, and to do all in our
power to alleviate their pain. "Christianity has taught
us to care. Caring is the greatest thing," affirmed
Baron von Hugel.
The Good Samaritan and Jesus himself are good
New Testament examples of those who felt and
practiced compassion. If we are "moved with
compassion" we will truly love people, and they will
know we love them arfd be led to the Lord.

breast. When she was
once more able to look at
her body with pleasure,
she felt, in her words,
"not just reconstructed,
but reborn."
In I Am Whole Again,
Ms. Zalon prepares
women for what to expet,
how to seek the best help,
how to deal with family
and friends, exactly
what surgical proce-
dures are involved. To
help us understand how
breast loss affects
women, especialy in a
society where the female
breast is so intimately
associated with a
woman's sexuality and
self-esteem, she relates
her conversations with
several women who have
also undergone maste-
ctomies.
This book indicates
that in most cases it is
possible to reconstruct
the breast so that it looks
very similar to the na-
tural one. And according
to specialists, leading
American cancer scien-
tists, cited here, there is
no evidence that recon-
struction masks further
symptoms or leads to a
