The HELLCAT News
REPORT FROM
BILL JOHNSON
UNIT REP. 714th
You are right if you think
that I am concerned about my
unit's paid up membership not
being what it shiiuld be.
Ylou are also right if you think
that I get ruffled when I write
letters to men and receive not
even a post card in return.
You are very wrong when you
think that I don't appreciate
any help I iget in locating old
members.
A good example of mixed em-
otions. Mixed emotions are
what you feel when ycu watch
your mother-in-law drive your
brand new Cadillac over a one
hundred foot cliff.
I have B i b b y and Charlie
Quici to thank for locating the
following forgotten men: Eldon
Age, RLute No. 3 Caldwell, Ida-
ho; waiter R. Bowers, 4151 Nia-
gara Way, Wayne. Michigan;
Keith Coykendal 3019 Glenmuel,
Farmingtcn Township, Michi-
gan.
Harry Athanis has a couple
of addresses that I am hopeful
he can track down for me.
Harry Kettler as offered to
help with some addresses that
I have, I will certainly take
him up on this offer, He should
be very successful he writes a
very nice letter.
Remember Christmas cards
are a good way to keep in touch,
ycu don't have to send the very
best — just care enough.
Merle and Evelyn Loomis an-
nounced the birth of their dau-
ghter, Jill Marie. Merle and Ev-
elyn attended their first con-
vention at Chicago, and they
tell me that they had a very
good time meeting so many nice
people in such a short time. I
wish they could have met more
because there are so many
nice people that didn't show up.
I commend the editor for the
fine item on the late Lt. Col.
James M. Boone. It was indeed
a pleasure talking to him at the
New York convention. I attach-
ed the clipping to his 'file card
and returned it to the file al-
ways a member in good stand-
ing.
I have smicked a half of a
pack of cigarettes writing this
report, I had better close. There
has been so much written about
the ill effects of smoking I have
decided to give up reading.
