1977 REUNION COMMITTEE — Standing: Mancinelli, Camarata, Caravelli, Romano.
Seated: Lipschultz, Clarke, Sarnocinski.
REUNION
PLANS COMPLETE
Plans for the 31st 12th Armored
Division Reunion have been completed
by Reunion Chairman Vince
Mancinelli. We have decided to give
each member a permanent type plastic
identification badge instead of the
paper ones we have been using. These
will serve as a souvenir of the
Philadelphia reunion as well as an
identification of our members.
On Friday evening we hope to have a
reception in the hotel Quiet Court
which is outdoors. There will be a cash
bar, plus music for your pleasure. After
the reception there will be a party and
dance in the Commonwealth Ballroom.
Two tours have been set up for
Friday afternoon, open to any member
and registered guests. The first tour
will be to Valley Forge with guides to
take you through Valley Forge Park.
The second tour is through historic
Philadelphia with professional guides
to take you to the historic places such
as the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall,
etc. These tours will be part walking
and part bus riding. Both tours are
complimentary but will depart at the
same time.
Saturday, July 30, there will be a
cocktail hour with two complimentary
drinks per person, and this will be
followed by our banquet.
We have a number of unit rooms at
this time and we are attempting to get
enough for all units.
We received a letter from Miss
Helene Kautz to the effect that she and
two other young ladies from
Herrlisheim, France will visit the USA
from June 30 to July 30,1977. We hope
to have them at our reunion. Those of
you who were on our last European trip
and visited Herrlisheim will remember
the family living at the water works who
were living there during the fighting to
liberate the town. Helene Kautz is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jules Kautz —
the family still living at the water works.
Complete programs will be available
at the time of registration with
additional information on the reunion
activities and places of interest for your
visiting pleasure.
We need door prizes. Kindly bring
them to the reunion or send them to:

PRESIDENT'S
REPORT
Is everyone ready? All the last
minute packing details taken care of,
and provisions madeforthecatandthe
dog. Then it is time to remember our
old convoy commands, with start your
motors and move 'em out, on the
different routes of transportation that
will take you to the 31st Annual
Reunion of the 12th Armored Division
Association at the Marriott Hotel in
Philadelphia, PA.
On May 15, 1977, 36 of our Hellcat
friends enjoyed the annual picnic on
our little farm. Those who came to the
occasion with their families and guests
were: 714th — Bramletts, Springboro;
Wenricks, Piqua; Horneys, Cincinnati;
Heubleins, Cincinnati; Norriss,
Canton, all of Ohio. 23rd —
Magoteaux, Osgood, OH. 119th —
Hubers, Dayton and Trappe,
Miamisburg, OH. 92nd — Kridner,
Elisie, Ml; and Thompsons, New Port
Richy, FL. 66th — Zumwolds, Dayton,
OH. 495th —Worths, Decatur, IN. 17th
— Kunkels, Decatur, IN; Fuhurers,
Dayton, OH; Clements, Dayton, OH,
and Edna and I. We hope all of you had
a safe journey home and thank you for
an enjoyable weekend. I wish to have
this available to you as long as you
desire it.
May I repeat, please don't turn your
hostility on your unit rep. They are
doing a wonderful job. Your rep has to
write his report in a given manner, and
it must be in by a certain date. So if it
isn't in by the issue you believe it
should be, remember he has other
things to do, too. Get your letters to
him early, as he has to rewrite all the
news of his unit. He is only human, and
remember he draws very little thanks
for his job. So please have a little
patience, keep sending him all your
news, and if it isn't in this month,
maybe next month. Be thankful we
have someone who will take his leisure
time to work out a column for your
enjoyment. May I personally thank all
our unit reps for the wonderful job they
have done this past year in reporting
news for the Hellcat News, which I con-
sider the backbone of the 12th ADA.
Again we have had a good year with
recruiting new members. May all of you
be on hand to extend to them a big
welcome at Philly.
Inez and Ken Warnes, our past
executive secretary who came to our
rescue when we badly needed
someone, and did a great job while
serving us, wrote me that they may not
be able to attend this year's reunion as
he has no vacation time on his new job.
The hat and his wife will be sorely
missed.
Edna and I will see you at Philly!
Warren Maue
