Wayne E. Newlin (Div. Hq.)
611 W. Forest Lawn Ave. Pe-
orta, 111.: — "One way to be
reminded of some of the pleas-
ure derived from associations
with men of the 12th is to visit
with one personally. That was
my pleasure one night when
J. Fred Jay (Hq. Fwd. Echlon)
of Louisville, Ky. was in town
on a business trip. I met him
at the Holiday Inn where he
was staying and we had a very
enjoyable visit. He has had the
chance to visit with a lot oi
headquarters men because he
travels a great deal. As for
myself, I am in my eighth year
as superintendent of a school
district in a suburban area at
the north edge fo Peoria, 111.
I hope that some of the Hq.
Co. and Div. Hq. men will gel
to the reunion. It's a good
location for many midwestern-
ers."
George Spicer (A/714) 45-Wel-
lesly St. Maplewood, N.J.: —
"I have been a member of the
New Jersey National Guard
since 1947 and worked in the
state maintenance shops as part
of the 50 A.D. 50 Ord. Bn. un-
til 1959. Due to a cutback in
he!p I was transferred to the
1st Missile Bn. 254th Arty, of
the Guard and took a job as
a computer operator. I hope
to eventually go to school and
become a radar mechanic."
Sirron V. Norris (C/119) 249
Turner St. Ft. Leonard Wood,
No. 65473: — 'Hope to make the
reunion in St. Louis which is
only 135 miles from our new
address."
George F. Grimshaw Jr. (Div.
Hq.) Cognewaugh Rd. Cos Cob,
Conn.: — "We are in our sec-
ond year in Connecticut and
just love it. George commutes
to 300 Park Ave. NYC daily
where he happily pursues his
Industrial Design career. Our
oldest, Peter, ll1/2, is showing
some of his father's art talent,
and is on the art staff of his
school paper. Christopher, 8 is
in the third grade, and a Bob-
cat in the Cubs. Our youngest,
Brian, 6V2, is in first grade, and
is our chief assistant in caring
for our six (6) french poodles.
Mommy, that's me, Eileen, be-
sides keeping my male house-
hold content, teaches a Con-
fraternity class, holds office in
the Catholic Daughters of A-
merica, and is on the editorial
staff for "Womanpower" a lo-
cal political publication. Since
we have been to, and love St.
Louis, we'll make a very spe-
cial effort to attend the 1963
reunion. May God send His
peace to this troubled globe
and to each individual heart."
Joseph G. Ross (HQ/56) 435
Clifton Ave. Lexington, Ky.:—
"The Hellcat News is appreci-
ated by the entire family. For
the past two years I have been
with the Lexington Economy
Drug Co. as office manager.
Any of you passing through
this way are welcome to drop
in. Give me a call — 4-6607 and
I will give you directions on
how to locate me. I am glad
to hear that the reunion is in
St. Louis. Perhaps it can be
worked in with my vacation
schedule."

Chester A. Larson (SV/495)
RT 1 Box 3, Center City, Minn.:
— "I am living at Center City,
Minn, and am Chief of Police
of Lindstrom, Minn. I am also
a part time Deputy Sheriff of
Chicago County. We have one
daughter Judy who is 20 years
old now and going to Nurses
training at the Minneapolis
General Hospital. She is in her
2nd year training now. My wife
Betly is in the office at the
Chicago Lake Hospital at Lind-
strom so we are all busy. I am
Commander of lindstrom Leg-
ion Post No. 83 this year.
Blanchard S. Leacy (A&C/
56) 3310 El Burritto Ave. Tus-
con, Arizona: — "My wife and
I and the boys took a trip to
California last June. We stop-
ped in to see Col. Bob Beach
at San Luis Obispo. We found
him well and engaged in the
real estate business. I remem-
ber when he was a 2nd lieuten-
ant in "H" Co. when the divi-
sion was activated and I was a
Buck Sgt. in "I" Co. He later
became company commander
of the same company which
was by this time known as
"B" Co. He was a fine officer
and a mighty good C.O. Hope
that things will work out so
that we can attend the reunion.
Glad to see Jean Norton's and
Gene Blackford's name in the
paper. I hear from Floyd Van-
Derhoef and Russ Clair both
retired. I will always believe
that the 56th A IB and the three
seperate battalions had the best
dam'n officers that any outfit
ever had."
Cooper Wilson (B/714) 341 E.
Broadway, Salem, N.J. :-" Am
looking forward to seeing all of
the boys in St. Louis this com-
ing August."
Vernon B. Opsahl (SV/495)
Carpenter, South Dakota: —
"Last year my wife Mary, my-
self, and our three boys took a
trip to the Seattle World's Fair.
We drove 4300 miles going
through Yellowstone Park,
General Custer Park pr" oip-
cier Park. We really had a
wonderful trip. We will try to
make St. Louis this year. By
the way we live in pheasant
country so if any of you fellows
come out this way to hunt be
be sure and look me up. We
have 1160 acres to hunt on."
Leland C. Winand (SV/23) 500
E. Gambier Ave. Mt. Vernon,
Ohio: — "Went into the imple-
ment business when I got out
of service but competition got
a little too keen so I sold out
and went into the selling field.
For the past seven years I've
been a route salesman for the
City Laundry and Dry Cleaning
Co. My hobby is collecting old
tractors, steam engines, cars,
trucks, and old farm machin-
ery, etc. I am married and we
have a little engineer growing
up. Gary Lee was born March
1, 1960. I hope that things work
out so that we can attend the
St. Louis reunion this year. I
would like to see more fellows
from the 23rd attend and I
would like to see more letters
in the Hellcat News from some
of the boys."
Lyle E. Staab (HQ/714) 634
Cedar Dr. Times Beach, Mo.:
— "Hope to see you all this
August in good old St. Louis."
Mark W. Stout Jr. (A/119)
Box 455, Browning, Montana:—
"Mark is General Engineer for
the Bureau of Indian Affairs
on the Blackfeet Project. He
has a visual sense (or 6th En-
gineering sense) that makes
him tops in his profession. He
occasionally hears from Harley
Wells in West Virginia. Mark is
not much of a correspondent
but he enjoys hearing about
his buddies." Signed: Mrs.
Stout. .
