President's
Report
This is the month for sending
our greetings of the season to
all our friends and my hope is
that each of you have the best
holiday season ever. My wish
is that we celebrate the Hanuk-
kah Holidays and the Christ-
mas Holidays, ever mindful of
the reason that these days are
celebrated.
In line with a Past-Presi-
dents meeting at San Antonio
and their request to the Execu-
tive Council, a committee has
been appointed to lay plans and
determine how we are to cel-
ebrate our 50th. Anniversary of
the 12th. Armored Division in
1992. The Chairmen of this
committee is Robert L. Downey,
Sr., our second Vice-President.
For this celebration we want
the input of all our members as
to how we should celebrated
this anniversary and request
that all of you write the com-
mittee with your ideas of how
we celebrate this milestone in
the history of our division. The
following four members of this
committee, all Past Presidents
of our association, will welcome
comments and ideas to give this
committee direction and aid in
setting the course of action and
the activities that we will use
in this celebration. The Past
Presidents on this committee

Historian's
Reminder
We would like to thank all
the Hellcats and Hellkittens
who have sent material and
photos to us for Volume II of
our new history book. It is
developing well at this time.
The pre-publication orders for
the book are not what we expect-
ed at this point and would like

HO, HO, HO, (HUCK-PTUEY, HUCK-PTUEY)
MERRY CHRISTMAS! (HUCK-PTUEY!)
to see more orders come in.
Volume II is a 12th Armored
Division Association project
and it is important that the
membership gets behind it by
ordering the book. It is your
story of a memorable part of
your life and in memory of our
Hellcat comrades that we left
behind on the battlefield. Please
get your orders in now.
We have received photos from
many members taken in the
war years, but we know that
there are many, many more out
in the membership. We have
seen them printed time after
time in the Hellcat News. We
still need more photos of your-
self and your buddies. We want
to get as many pictures of in-
dividual Hellcats in Volume II
as possible, including as many
as possible of our comrades
who were K.I.A. and those who
are deceased in the years since
the war. Without these pictures
several units will be disappoint-
ed when they see the other
units pictorial sections. The
714th, at this time is leading
the pack with pictures due to
the George Moss collection.
494th's A Battery, 17th's A Co.
and 56th's B Co. are running
well also. So, let's hear from
the other units, we want you to
also participate in making this
book of your history the best
ever.
When you send us your pic-
tures, (1) please make sure the
people in the photo are identi-
fied, (2) place a return address
label on the back of each photo
to become a part of the 12th's
archives, please mark them to
be returned to Ken Bradstreet
or Ailene Durst.
If you have not sent in your
biography (if you were not in
Volume I) please sit down and
do it now (deadline on bios is
20 December 1989.) If you wish
to put in a bio of one of your
buddies that is deceased, please
do, it would be a great tribute
to him. Note to our Hellkitten
widows; make up a bio for your
beloved Hellcat and sent it in.
He was a part of the 12th's
history and deserves recogni-
tion.
Remember, THIS IS YOUR
HISTORY, YOUR STORY,
YOUR LIFE during WW II.
Only you can write or pictorial-
ize that life and history. Please
be a part of Volume II, YOU
are the IMPORTANT ones in
the 12th Armored Division his-
tory of WW II.
