The HELLCAT News
Report From
William Johnson
7141-11 Tank Bn.
Unit Rep.
Here I go again representing
the 714th. I hope this year I
can count on all of the unit
to get their dues paid up early
so that I can concentrate on
new memberships, of course I
will need some names and
addresses and some news.
I'm sorry that I missed meet-
ing so many of the men per-
sonally yet I greatly appreciate
Harry Athanis (Med 7H4) call-
ing my room and making it a
point to see me. It was a real
pleasure meeting Harry and his
wife. He also introduced me to
Ool. Fred Fields who I might
add seemed to be enjoying
himself. We hope to hear more
from Fred.
Thanks to Grady Rowell for
his introduction to Tom Mich-
aels (SV) and Warren Nelson
(SV) I hope to see more of
them in the future.
B 71114 had some new faces
this year, Ray and Lila Ed-
wards and Merle & Evelyn Loo-
mis. Of course there were the
regular, DeHart the Miliners,
Charlie & Bibbiy Quici, Cass
and Charlies Friker, Adam &
Betty Beckadic and last but
not least Harry & Ginny Ket-
tler.
The Kettler's traveled to O-
hio and Penn. after the con-
vention, spent a couple of days
with Dave & Evelyn Arburn
and on to the Adam Beckadics
in Penn. At this reading they
are probably still recuperating.
I hope they enjoyed them-
selves. I am sure Butch their
son will foe ready next year.
Saw Vince Caulfield in Cleve-
land the other day. He works
for the Higbee Co. and was
at the freight entrance—a real
gold bricking job. He had a pet
with him. It was a horse be-
longing to the Mounted Police
tied in the shade of the door
way. Vince does a lot of betting
at the race track. I really be-
lieve that Vince thought that
this animal could help him!
Can you imagine Vince sitting
on a box with the police horse
looking over his shoulder both
of them (naturally) reading the
racing form.

I knew our association was a
United States concern but I
learned at Chicago that Cana-
dian Club has entered into the
Hli9th for the coming year.
How about it Bill and Joe? I
over-heard a membership bet
being made between A and B
Co. representatives that the
loser would present to the win-
ner at Charlotte a 'bottle of
Canadian whiskey.
I wish to thank all the mem-
bers and wives of the (12th who
took time from their busy sch-
edule to join with us in Chica-
go to make our 13th annual re-
union a real success.
We still are in need of new
members and of course, we are
counting on each of you who

SYMPATHY
Our sympathy is extended to
Fred C. Erichsen (A/1495) of
Milton Ave., Highland, N.Y. who
received a phone call informing
him of his fathers death only
moments after your secretary
had registered him and his
wife Evelyn at our Chicago re-
union. They had looked for
ward eagerly to attending the
reunion but had to immediately
turn around and face a long
drive Iback to New York with
a heavy heart.

in your renewals IMMEDIATE-
LY.
Mrs. Rupert is sorry that she
could not have enjoyed the
Chicago reunion, but due to the
children being on vacation in
New York City, was impossible
to be with us. She will be at
Charlotte next year, the good
Lord willing.
Larry, I would like if you
would send an issue of Hell-
Cat News to Henry E. Haltom,
Bn. C.O. 119th, Engr. 407 West
Jackson, Borger, Texas. He
writes, "Surely would like to
make one of the 12th. Arm'd
Reunions', but usually they are
too far away for me."

We are happy to learn that
Charles' boys were safe from
the disasterous school fire that
claimed so many lives in 11959.
