NEWS and VIEWS
LAWRENCE J. FEROLIE writes:
"It seems a long time ago that we were all together in Europe. I managed to get to the reunion when
it was held in Chicago. At that time I was on active duty with the reserve in Chicago at 5th Army
Hqtrs.
"Immediately after the outbreak of hostilities in Korea I was called to active duty, but a trick knee
caused me to be transferred to the honorary inactive reserves.
"After the war when I went back to the University of Illinois and picked up an A.B. degree, I gradu-
ated from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. I was married last April to the Gloria
Bonomo of Chicago. Since that time I was admitted to the practice of law in Illinois and have opened
an office in my home town.
"I seldom run into any Hellcats, but by coincidence though, Rev. William Bisgaard (Chaplain CCA)
has a parish here in Rockford. I often see him. He has just returned from a two week summer
camp with the Illinois National Guard.
"It certainly would be nice to hear from any of the gang in "C" Company of the 66th A I. B. It ap-
pears I have lost all track with the old outfit. I find the Hellcat News a very good medium of keep-
ing abreast with the situation. My only desire for it is rapid expansion. Incidentally my new ad- •
dress is now 403 Lorigwcod St. , Rockford, Illinois.
BERNIE BOMBASARO, 173 Arizona Ave. , Joliet, Illinois, writes:
"Just a few lines to say hello and let you know I am all set for the 1st and 2nd of September. Hope
this card finds all in the best of health and spirits.
"I am sending a postcard to all the men in "C" troop, giving them all the news on the Convention. ^
I am sure that will do some good. It's a good suggestion for others to follow. Will see you soon.
MARVIN HORWITZ, 16809 Livernois, Detroit 21, Michigan, writes:
"i wish to report a change of address and hope you will publish it in the Hellcat News.
"Also, I hope you mention the fact that I'm going to be at the Convention this year, and hope
the boys will be in Detroit for ' 52. This time I'm coming with all the proper propaganda De-
troit has to offer. "
ED BROVIC, 303 E. 148th Place, Harvey, Illinois, writes:
He would like to inform his friends in the 92nd Cavalry that he plans to attend the Convention
and would like to see a large attendance from his group.
He probably will drive to the Convention from Chicago and invites any member to contact him
for a ride to the Convention. His phone numbers are: Chicago Phone - Hilltop 5-5478; Ever-
green Park Phone - Evergreen Park 8765; Harvey Phone - Harvey 1306 W.
LEONARD DOOLEY writes:
"Have come across several Hellcats since being ordered to active duty. Sgt. Mehrens (119th),
Capt. Tom Walsh (494th), Col. Gordon (CCR & C/S), Major (now Sgt. ) Givens (Div. Arty), Sgt.
Drehen (92nd), and I understand there are several more here at Ft. Sill. Would be glad to pass
any Reunion plans you may have along to them. Present address is: SFC L. P. Dooley, Hq & Hqs
Btry 553 F A Bn, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. "
Received from EARLE O. HOYT, 4638 Ashland, Detroit 24, Michigan:
"Just a note to advise the latest Hellcat News has just arrived along with the convention litera-
ture. Sorry I'm unable to attend. Did remind me to send in my dues though, which I just did to
Bill Comfort.
"I am back on active duty stationed at the Ordnance Tank Automotive Center in Detroit. Haven't
heard from any of my old buddies from the 134th Ord Bn but noticed in the Army phone directory
that Dick Rastetter is now a L. C. stationed in OCO Washington.^ Glad to hear from any of the
boys who may be in Detroit if they care to look me up at home. "
