Sandy Mayes presented a
program entitled "Santa
Rides a Jumbo Jet" during
the monthly PTO meeting
last Tuesday night in the
Nancy Smith Elementary
School cafeteria. "Santa"
appears to be a little over-
dressed but makes it
through the presentation
with nary a stumble. The
mini-musicals are per-
formed by NSES students
at almost every regular
meeting of the PTO, held
the first Tuesday of each
month at 7:00 p.m. in the

Representatives from
the Albany FFA Chapter
attended the Oil Belt Dis-
trict FFA Awards Ban-
quet held in Brecken-
ridge's Community Cen-
ter on November 29, ac-
cording to Jim Leech,
FFA sponsor.
FFA Sweetheart, Dee
Dee Hamilton competed
against other area sweet-
hearts during the inter-
view contest portion of
the banquet. She was ac-
companied by her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Hamilton.
FFA president Steve
Spore along with Robert
Hill served as voting dele-
gates at the ceremony.
Also representing Albany
were Tito Benavides, An-
dy Cauble, Curtis
Chambers, and Joe Bob
Cauble.
"Ken Jones, an Albany
High School graduate of
1984, was also recognized
during the banquet," ex-
plained Leech.
"He was awarded the
Lone Star Farmer
Award," reported Leech.
This distinction repre-
sents the highest award
of the club given to a high
school student, and it is a

nized past winners of
FFA competitions held
throughout the area in
such events as grass and
land judging and other
yearly club competitions.
Fingerling order
to be placed
Landowners in the
Lower Clear Fork of the
Brazos Soil and Water
Conservation District will
have the opportunity to
order fingerling bass,
bluegill, catfish and min-
nows for stocking their
farm ponds, according to
Alan Heirman, district
conservationist for the
USDA Soil Conservation
Service in Albany.
"Landowners who miss-
ed the earlier delivery on
November 20, should
order now for the
December 12 delivery,"
stated Heirman.
Interested landowners
should contact Heirman
at the local SCS office or
