Q-P Stores Remodeling
Building For Their Store
According to Mr. Weisz of Q
P Stores, work is progressing
rapidly on the interior remodel
ing of their building.
The store building is one form-
erly occupied by E. H. Pratka,
and is located next to the Cen-
tral Power Light Company office.
The store will be equipped
with the latest type of fixtures
and devices for handling grocer-
ies rapidly and the most san-
itary manner. This equipment
includes the new type island
shelf for carrying canned goods
as well as bulk goods. These
shelves are so constructed that
stooping to reach in selecting
merchandise is almost unnecessa-
ry. The fruit and vegetable stand
is so constructed to accommodate
a complete linG of seasonable
fruits and vegetables which will
be carried at all times Frigira-
tion for cooling ice boxes as well
as display cases is furnished by
Prigidaire equipment.
Mr. Weisz says that he will
handle only known and national-
ly advertised goods having a rep-
utation of merit and the highest
quality and lowest prices will al-
ways prevail at the Q-P Store
consistent with good businesss
policy.
"We are believers in newspa-
per advertising", Mr. Weisz said,
"'and our weekly prices, specials
and other announcements will
always be found in the home
newspaper published where we
operate stores".
Special features for the open
ing day for the Q-P Stores are
being arranged and further par-
ticulars of the opening announce-
ment will appear in the Stickerst
Advertising Column of next
week.
C. P. & L. Head-
quarters Moved
At a recent meeting of the
Board of Directors of the Cen-
tral Power and Li>?ht Company
it was decided to move the Gene
ral Office of the Company from
San Antonio to Corpus Chrisli
The move will take rflace some
time during the latter Dart of
this month and will involve ap-
proximately 60 employees.
It has lontf been a desire of
the Company to have its General
Office located nearer tfcn center
of its operating prcpartie*, it
being felt that soch a location
would increase the efficiency of
the entire Company and br ing
the General Office in closer con-
tact with operating problems.
Corpus Chrisci was selected
as the logic il location f >r th? of-
fica because that City is nearer
the exact eeotpr of the*mxjr
DOrtion of the Company'.* pro-
perties than any other city
South and Southwest Texas.
