First Raptist Church was that
of Teena Gene Abbott, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Ab-
bott, ar d f\irtis Joe Carter,
son of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Car-
ter of Hamlin, last Saturday,
June 6, at 8:00 p. m.
Relatives and a few close
friends witnessed the double
ring vows read by F{ev. Marion
K. Kirrhner, pastor, before a
tall fan altar background of
emerald fern with a spreading
arrangement of white stork
and a large white satin bow.
Twenty-eight white wedding
tapers burned in flanking sev-
en-branched candelabra entwin-
ed with plumosus fern.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a street-
length dress of white silk or-
ganza, designed with full skirt,
molded bodice and three-quar-
ter length sleeves trimmed with
lace. Her fingertip veil of silk
illusion was caught to a coro-
net of Iridescent sequins. .She
carried a white Rible given to
her by the YWA White liihle
Service. Her cascading bou-
quet was of white frenchod
carnations with white satin
streamers tied in love knots
around white stork florets, and
touched with puffs of blue nri-

On the piano were a pair of
wedding tapers based with
plumosus fern holding bows
of blue satin ribbon.
Mothers of the contracting
couple wore corsages of white
frenrhed carnations.
The bride's mother chose a
dress of white eyelet embroid-
ery and black accessories. The
bridegroom's mother wore a
blue dress with black accessor-
ICS.
Reception
A reception was held in the
fellowship hall at the conclus-
ion of the ceremony. The
bride and bridegroom were as-
sisted in receiving guests by
their parents.
Grace Carter, sister of the
bridegroom, registered guests
in the bride's book. The reg-
istry table was covered with
white floor-length cover of
net over taffeta and adorned
by lighted tapers in double
crystal holder based with plu-
mosus fern dotted with stock
florets.
Cover for the bride's table
matched that on the registry
table. At each corner was a
large bow of blue ribbon tied
mound a white wedding bell.
Centering the. table stood a
large heart outline covered
with white not and satin ribbon
dotted with florets of white
stock as a background for the
bride's bouquet laid on the ta-
ble. Appointments for the ta-
ble were all in ciystal. Judie

Kay Hrny served the three tier-
ed wedding cake, which was
iced in blue and white and or-
namented on the top tier by
bride and groom figurines and
wedding bells. The rake was
on a circular reflector rimmed
with white stock and puffs of
blue maline.

cattleya orchid surrounded
with stephanotis nestled in
white tulle flecked with seed
pearls. The white Bible, her
grandmother's, was her some-
thing old. She had borrowed
a white handkerchief from an
aunt, wore the traditional blue
garter, and had a penny in her
over taffeta, was ornamented
at each corner by blue satin
bows with door Ion"th stream-
ers. The centerpiece was a tall
wedding liell covered with a
mist of white net encasing the
bridal bouquet. Silver cande-
labra flanked the centerpiece.

was soloist to sing "Because"
and "The lord's Prayer."
For the wedding prayer the
contracting couple knelt on a
white satin pillow beneath an
arch laced with emerald fern
and adorned at the crest with
a bouquet of white stock.
Glenming white satin bows
were tied on the two pairs of
candelabra which flanked the
wedding arch, find were com-
bined with emerald fern to out-
line the choir rail and mark the
family pews.
The mother of the bride
