Ihe annual Shackelford Coun-
ty 4-H and FFA market steer
show will be held Saturday,
Oct. 9, at 10 a. m. Steers will
be Judged by Dub Sims, voca-
tional agriculture teacher at
Throckmorton. Twenty market
steers are expected to be on
hand at judging time.
Also all milk-fed steer feed-
ers in the county are invited to
exhibit their calves in a separ-
ate class. This class was set
up to give every feeder an op-
bought the
Valley View Ranch, on Hub-
bard Creek, from his father-
in-law in 1914, and has been as-
sociated with the ranching in-
terests here since. He was
named a director in the First
National Bank in 1917 and serv-
ed as a director until he retir-
ed in July, 1963, because of ill

The ranch home place nine
miles east of Albany was sold
to C. L. Gladden, and Mr. and
Mrs. DeLafosse moved to their
residence on the east side of
Lake DeLafosse, where they
resided a number of years. Mr.
DeLafosse had developed Lake
DeLafosse over the years,
where there are a number of
lake residences.
He was a member of the
Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife; three
daughters, Mrs George Ann
Wheat and Mrs. Sue Phelps of
Abilene and Mrs. Amanda Kin-
caid. Athens. Also surviving are
two brothers, Roy of Palestine
and Floyd of San Leon; one sis-
ter, Mrs. John E. Odell of
Shawnee, Okla; five grand-
daughters, one grandson and
three great grandchildren.
