SAINT JO Funeral servic-
es for Lucile (Steadham) Harvill
Cummings of Saint Jo were held
at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19,
2008, at the First Baptist Church
in Saint Jo. C.E.Cole assisted
by Rev. Jeff Roe officiated.
Burial was in Perryman
Cemetery in Forestburg.
Services were directed by
McCoy funeral Home of Saint
Jo.
Born Nov. 8, 1911, one of
the five children of Eli and
Mary Thompson Steadham,
Lucille was raised and attended
school in Dye Mound. In fact
there were only eight grades at
Dye Mound; so, Lucille repeat-
ed the 8th grade, just to keep in
school. She later took some spe-
cial courses and training, mak-
ing her qualified as a Geriatric
(MHMC) attendant at the
Vernon State School where she
worked some 20 years.
Lucille married Bert Harvill
Sr. in 1929. They were the par-
ents of three sons all of which
grew up in the Saint Jo area.
Bert died in 1964. She then, in
later life, married Carl
Cummings. When he died in
1989, Lucille returned to Saint
Jo where she has since lived.
Lucille was a faithful member
of the First Baptist Church, and
the Steadfast Sunday School
class in Saint Jo. She enjoyed
her family and friends, sewing,
quilting, piecing and quilting
until her eyesight recently
forced her to quit. She won
many awards as she displayed
the quilts during the Jim Bowie
Days Festival and the
Watermelon Festival at
Forestburg. She and her sister
Veda Brogdon traveled exten-
sively, touring such places as
Israel and Hawaii. She delivered
Meals-On-Wheels in Saint Jo
for several years.
Survivors are: sons: Lewis E.
"Eli" and wife Shirley Harvill of
Forestburg, Burt L. and wife
Edna Harvill of Bowie, and M.
Dale and wife Debbie Harvill of
Magnolia; daughter Vera and
Lee Heaton of Gig Harbor,
Wash.; 11 grandchildren, 17
Grace Lusk
BOWIE — Grace Lusk
passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008. She
is now joined again with the
love of her life, Paul E. 'Hap'
Lusk, to be with him again for
Valentine's Day.
Funeral Services were held at
11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, in the
Drawing Room of the White
Family Funeral Home with
Brother Mike Henson officiat-
ing.
Burial followed at Oak Hill
Cemetery, Stoneburg.
Should friends desire, memo-
rials may be made to the
Hospice of Rural North Texas
or Bellmire Healthcare Facility
for all the care and support
given to Paul, Grace, and the
Lusk family during this impor-
tant time.

Grace was born Aug. 16,
1922, in Tennessee as one of
eight children to George Preston
Morgan and Geneva Barnard
Morgan. She married Paul E.
Lusk on April 13, 1941, in Las
Vegas, Nev. She spent most of
her life in the Chino and
Pomona areas in California
where they raised three sons,
Paul E. Jr., Ken and John. She
was the matriarch of this all
male family. Family was always
first in their home. Grace and
Paul were the owners of the Los
Serranos Market, Calif, where
she managed the store for more
than 30 years. Paul and Grace
helped build the community that
is now Chino Hills, Calif. Grace
served as the first PTA
President of the new elementary
school, Los Serranos
Elementary. She also served as
the Postal Matron at a satellite
post office, set up inside the
Market located on Descanso
Street, Chino, Calif
Grace and Paul moved to
Bowie in the early 1980s where
they became involved in the sur-
rounding community until their
health would not allow more
involvement. She was a member
of TOPS #TX 439 Nocona. She
was a resident of Bellmire
Healthcare Facility where she
was a current member of Belles
of Bellmire Red Hat Society and
enjoyed many hours of friend-
ship with the residents. She was
a past member of the California
Thoroughbred Breeders
Association, 1950-1985, mem-
ber of the Texas Thoroughbred
Breeders Association, and
Texas Thoroughbred
Association.
She is preceded in death by
her husband of 66 years, Paul E.
Lusk; parents, George and
Geneva Morgan; sisters, Opal
Dodson and Lona Christenson;
brothers, Lee Morgan, Louis
Morgan, and A.J. Morgan.
She is survived by sons, Paul
Edward and Roxanne Lusk, Jr.
of Victorville, Calif, Kenneth
E. and Nancy Lusk of Sachse,
and John E. Lusk and 'K'
Downs of Bowie; grandchil-
dren, Kathleen and Donald
Rodriquez, Colleen and Trevor
Banks, Kerri and Mike Barnes,
Keenan and Janice Lusk, Kristi
and Matt Smith, Jade and
Jimmy McGaw and Robin,
Kimmie, and Ryan Downs;
brothers, Kile Morgan and
George Morgan of California;
sisters-in-law, Nellie Morgan
and Helene Lusk of
California; and nine great-
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike
Williams, Lupe Resendiz,
Jimmy McGaw, Rodney Arnett,
Joe McCoy, and Paul Brossart.
Honorary Pallbearers were

Maurine Hickman
BOWIE — Maurine Forester
Hickman, 99, beloved wife,
mother, grandmother, and great-
grandmother went home to be
with her Lord and Savior, Feb.
14, 2008.
Funeral Services were held at
2 p.m. Saturday at the First
United Methodist Church with
Dr. Martha Myer, pastor of First
United Methodist Church of
Bowie, Retired Rev, Merwin
Turner, and Rev. Sara
Hardaway officiating.
Burial followed at Newport
Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted
to the White Family Funeral
Home of Bowie.
Maurine was born to A.W.
Forester and Ora Flowers
Forester in Halsell on March 7,
1908. She graduated from
Bellevue High School Class of
1926 and attended Lon Morris
College in Jacksonville. After
college she returned to Newport
and taught school.
She married Newport busi-
ness owner, C.H. Hickman, in
Vashti in 1929 in the parsonage
of Vashti Methodist Church,
officiated by Rev. Hugh
Walker. They lived in many
Texas towns during the
Depression before settling in
Bowie in the mid-thirties. She
loved being a homemak-
er. Among her talents and hob-
bies were painting, sketching,
quilting, antiques, genealogy,
and reading. She owned and
operated an antiques store in the
70s in Bowie.
She was a charter member of
the Women's Society of
Christian Service of the
Methodist Church, charter
member of the Bowie Art
League, and was past Worthy
Matron of the Eastern Star. She
was a lifelong member of the
First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by
her husband and two sisters,
Frances Reeves and Opal
Fisher.
Mourning her passing and
rejoicing in Marine's long and
meaningful life are son, Don
Hickman and wife Edna of
Pampa; daughter, Joyce
Hickman of Bowie; grand-
daughters, Debra Hucks and
husband Tim of Pampa, Sherry
Lawson and husband James of
Paris; grandsons, Michael
Hickman and wife Ronda of
Casper, Wyo., and Kelly
Hickman of Pampa; great-
grandchildren, Tanner and Zac
Hucks, Jamie Hogan and hus-
band Barry, Tory Ritthaler,
Kendall and Becca Hickman;
nephew, Joe David Burchell of
Gardendale; and three genera-
tions of nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. Aujla
and the Bellmire staff, who so
lovingly took care of our moth-
er, and a very special friend,
Marion Holbrook. Enter into
your reward, good and faithful
servant.
Buck Romine
SAINT JO - Memorial serv-
ices for Buck Washington
Romine, 61, will be held at 10
a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at
the corner of East Phillips and
Main Streets in Saint Jo.
Buck was born Jan. 13, 1947,
in Montague to John Austin and
Lena Bessie Frazier Romine.
He passed away Feb. 14 in
Garland.
He is survived by: a daugh-
ter, Tracy Goode of Garland;
three sons, Bryan Romine of
Garland, Dusty Romine of
Dallas and Richie Romine of
Nocona; a granddaughter, Kelly
Romine; four grandsons, C.J.
Alvarado, Tristan Goode,
Shawn and Wayne Romine all
of Garland; four sisters, Sue
Romine Brewer of Saint Jo,
Evonne Offerman of Covina,
Calif, Kay Flood of Hay worth,
Okla., and Jean Walls Waller of
Bowie; two brothers, George
Cagle of Andrews and Ose
Weldon Mobley of Dallas; and
numerous nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.
Wilma and her husband lived
in Bakersfield, Calif., before
moving back to this area.
During World War II she
worked to support the war effort
and worked at Consolidated
Aircraft in Fort Worth as a
"Rosie the Riveter": girl.
She graduated from the first
graduating class of Prairie Point
School, what is now Prairie
Valley School.
The family wishes memori-
als be made to the Meals on
Wheels program in Nocona or
the charity of your choice.
She was preceded in death by
her parents and in 2002 by her
husband John.
Survivors include: a sister,
Nina Lee Jones of Nocona; a
brother, Richard Bonds and
wife Reba of Greenwood, Ark.;
and several nieces and nephews.
Janice Perry
DENTON — Janice Louise
May Perry, 68, of Denton, died
Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at her
home after a short illness. She
was born Feb. 18, 1939, in
Nocona to Erwin Wrenn and
Helen Louise (Skinner) May.
She was preceded in death by
both parents and a sister,
Marjorie Speake. She was a
member of the Trinity United
Methodist Church, and served
on the Missions Committee.
She was a Sales Consultant for
the 5th Avenue Club, Saks Fifth
Avenue, Dallas Galleria for 17
years.
A funeral service was held at
10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at
Trinity United Methodist
Church, 633 Hobson Lane in
Denton with Rev. John Peel,
officiating, followed by a 3 p.m.
Graveside service at the Nocona
City Cemetery.
She is survived by three sons
and daughters in law, Jeffery
Jon Perry and wife Pam of
Gainesville, Joel Hunter Perry
and wife Kay of Tyler, and
Joshua Edward Perry and wife
Christi of Denton; one sister and
brother in law, Elizabeth and
Stan Winton of Bowie; eight
grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren and numerous
nieces and nephews.

Wilma Bumpus
Funeral services for Wilma
Bonds Bumpus, 94, of Nocona,
were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
Feb. 20, 2008, at Scott-Morris
Funeral Home. Interment fol-
lowed at Nocona Cemetery.
Mrs. Bumpus was born Nov.
5, 1913, in Nocona the daughter
of Richard E. and Delia May
(Goin) Bumpus. She married
John Woodrow Bumpus who
preceded her in death.
Bart Henscheid
MUENSTER — Mass of
Christian burial for Bart George
Henscheid, 37, of Muenster is
scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday,
Feb. 21, 2008, at Sacred Heart
Church. Fr. Ken Robinson will
officiate. A rosary service is set
for 4 p.m. Wednesday followed
by a vigil at 5:30 p.m. at the
church. Burial will be in Sacred
Heart Cemetery. Services are
directed by McCoy Funeral
Home of Muenster.
Bart died at 11:35 a.m.
Monday, Feb. 18 at Denton
Regional Hospital.
Born Oct. 1, 1970, in
Muenster, one of the 5 children
of Virgil and Joaline Henscheid,
Bart was a disabled person that
really got around, visiting his
friends when mostly "hanging
out" at the Fina Station, going to
football and basketball games,
mostly at Sacred Heart, and had
much self pride in his coaching
abilities. He also really enjoyed
playing his guitar and singing
with the band of Billy Hogan
and with "Hoss" Knabe.
Bart was a member of Sacred
Heart Parish. He really loved his
family and his many, many
friends and will be greatly
missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include: his moth-
er Joaline Henscheid; sisters,
