The deacon body of Highland Baptist Church met
November 3, 1968, 4:30 p.m. All five deacons along
with our pastor were present. Our chairman called
the meeting to order with opening prayer led by Bro.
Harold Steadman. Our pastor was called upon again to
inlighten us on the Oaugus family situation. After
little discussion Bro. Baugus whom was invited to meet
with us was asked to come in and give us his explanation
about the charges of the G. Baptist Church in California
and at the same time was asked to excuss himself after-
wards. He said "I am embarrassed brethern and I hope
that these charges will not be held against me as a
church member and as a young minister of the gospel.

* A motion was made and seconded that since Bro. & Mrs.
Baugus and Roger had not received their letter and
because the church in California had disbanded, we
receive them by statement. Motion carried. A motion
and second was made that our monthly deacons meeting
be held on the Sunday before conference and that our
chairman and/or pastor decide on the time. Motion
carried. Bro. Warren gave all deacons and their families
along with our pastor and his family an invitation to
come to his house on the 14th of December for Fellow-
ship, Pun and Dinner. All accepted, grinned said to
* themselves "Food" Amen. Since this was such a good
idea, a motion and second was made that on the 2nd
Saturday night in December each year it be set aside
for our annual Deacon and Wives Christmas Banquet and
that each one bring a $2.00 gift to exchange. Motion
carried.
