Jl he antiquity and charm of Round Top provide the perfect
setting for the Texas Historical Foundation's 1989 Texana Auction
on April 1. The auction is the major fundraising event for
the Foundation, which is the only statewide non-profit historical
organization dedicated to saving Texas' unique heritage and history
by funding projects, publications and special events.
BE A PART OF THE CELEBRATION!
Play a special part in preserving Texas culture for future generations
by participating in this fundraising event. Mark your
calendars for April 1 and be in Round Top.
GETTING TO ROUND TOP
Regardless of the point of departure, the drive to Round Top
will take visitors through scenic Texas countryside. The city, 16
miles northeast of La Grange on Hwy. 237, is easily accessible.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
The Foundation is also asking members to contribute item(s)
-a rare book or document, a quilt, a piece of furniture or an
heirloom -to this event. Or consider donating a trip to your
ranch or hunting lease. Donations are tax-deductible, and contributors
will receive a letter stating the appraised value of the
merchandise for tax purposes; contributions are also acknowledged
The Foundation will be happy to help coordinate the collection
of your contribution. Please call our office at (409) 8456025,
from 8am to 5pm if we may be of assistance.
Articles on consignment will be accepted under the following
conditions: (1) dealers may consign, but no minimums can be
established; (2) the Texas Historical Foundation will receive 25
percent of the purchase price.
