Barbara's Spicy Carrots
2 lbs. carrots, sliced and cooked but not soft
2 onions, medium, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1 can Campbell's Tomato Soup
3/4 c. sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 t. dry mustard
1/2 c. oil mixed with 3/4 c. apple cider vinegar
Mix all together in a covered container.
Marinate 24 hours.
3 c. Bisquick
2 T. sugar
9 oz. beer, room temperature
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Mix ingredients and drop by spoonfuls
into greased muffin tins.
Let rise for 15 minutes. Bake for 20

1 10-lb. venison roast, at room temperature
1 lb. fresh pork or beef suet, cut up
2 c. vinegar
1 c. salad oil
2 c. water
2 cloves garlic
2 t. salt
2 t. black pepper
1 t. Worcestershire sauce
2 T. catsup
1/4 t. cloves
1/4 t. nutmeg
2 apples, sliced
2 onions, sliced
3 potatoes, sliced
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Work pieces of suet into creases close
to bone of roast. Mix next ten ingredients
to make sauce. Place roast in large pan,
pour sauce over meat and baste well.
Marinate for several hours. Brown roast
on all sides in hot skillet; place back in
large roaster with marinade and about 2
cups hot water. Place apples, onions, and
potatoes over meat.
Cover anrd bake at 300 degrees until

used when browning roast, if desired.
Rice For Venison And Other Game
2 T. cooking oil
1 c. white rice
1/3 c. pecans, chopped
V/ c. onion, chopped
1/4 c. bell pepper, chopped
1/2 c. frozen green peas
1 carrot, sliced in rounds
6 slices venison sausage
1 can chicken broth
1 can water
1/s t. garlic powder
Vs t. thyme
1/2-1 t. turmeric
1/4 c. fresh parsley, chopped, or 2 T. dried
Salt and pepper to taste
In a large skillet, heat cooking oil over
medium heat. Brown rice, stirring constantly
until lightly browned. Add all the
rest of the ingredients. Simmer covered
about 30 minutes until all liquid is absorbed.
