GENERAL INFORMATION BULLETIN
Westminster College is making application for Junior College Conference
membership.
Intercollegiate competition is in football, basketball, baseball, track,
tennis and golf. All problems of schedules, guarantees, enforcement of
contract, eligibility rules, problems of intercollegiate relations are
under the supervision of proper athletic councils in each of the colleges.
The faculty controls eligibility.
In addition to intercollegiate competition, well-rounded programs of
intramural sports for both men and women are provided on each campus.
These programs are under the direction of the Department of
Physical Training.
ATHLETIC AWARDS
Awards in intercollegiate athletics are based upon athletic ability
and scholarship standing and are voted by the appropriate council
with the approval of the Administration. No athletic award will be
made in any of our colleges to a student who has not met his financial
obligations to the college.
PUBLICATIONS
The Bulletin of Southwestern University is a periodical that has
been issued regularly since September, 1902. The purpose of the Bulletin
is to advertise to the public the advantages offered at Southwestern
University, to bring to the friends of Christian education
definite information concerning the work and needs of this institution,
as well as to convey regularly to the alumni and former students
items of news that will be of personal interest to them, either in reference
to some work that is being done by some former students or
some forward step taken by the institution.
The Ex-Student's News is an official publication of the University
issued under the auspices of the Ex-Students' Association. The purpose
of the paper is to keep ex-students informed as to Association
activities and to promote the interests of the University.43
