PoD Tax Receipts Indicate Largest Voting Strength
Hoy Street To Be
Widened To 80 Ft
On or about September II
1932 the Commissioners Court
entered into a contract witli the
State Highway Department to furnish
the Stato Highway Department
tho necessary Rightofway
to bo no less than 100 foot wide
excepting that part in tho cities
of Kress and Tulia where not
less than SO feet was to bo secured
on location approved by
the Stato Highway Commission
It was further agreed that
with tho above HightofWay secured
the Stato Highway Department
would build and maintain
without cost to tho city what is
commonly known as the loop
from Hoy Street on Conner to
Maxwell to First Street 1 hence
West on First Street to Hoy tho
grading and drainage has now
been completed on this loop and
the contract has been let for the
paving and topping
It was also agreed that the part
of Highway No 0 on Hoy Street
from Connor Street to First Street
is not to bo constructed at this
time That was in September 1932
and now eighteen IS months
later comes the following telegramLubbock Texas January 26th

make it necessary that Hoy Street
right of way be cleared of all
obstructions full eighty feet width
as per our original agreement
with Swisher County before contract
