SESSION OF 1919-'20
ministration building and the class work is conducted by efficient
Church Services.-Abilene is a city of Churches. Students are
expected to attend church. Regular services are held in the college
auditorium Sunday morning and night.
Revival Meeting.-Each session a revival meeting is held. Many
students obey the gospel during these meetings. Brother Jim Dunn
conducted the services the past session and forty-one of our students
The Young Men's Meeting.-Each Sunday afternoon is turned over
to the young men and they conduct the services. The general order
of the meeting is songs, Scripture reading, prayer, talks. Three or four
young men do the talking. The program is varied. A great number
of them have an opportunity to speak in public. This meeting furnishes
excellent opportunity for the development of church workers.
The Mission Study--Each Monday evening a class in Missions is
conducted by Brother Freeman. The purpose of this study is to acquaint
students with the mission fields and to stimulate interest in
Prayer Meeting.-Each Wednesday evening a prayer and praise
service is conducted in the college auditorium.
Lecture Week.-One week of each year will be devoted to lectures.
These lectures will be on Bible themes and will be delivered by our
greatest thinkers and leaders. The week will be catalogued as "The
A. C. C. Bible Lecture Week." The lecturers will be published in
book form. It is our purpose to produce some good literature on these
great spiritual themes.
Abilene Christian College Bulletin.
This is a college publication published by the faculty of Abilene
Christian College. It is published twelve times a year. One of the
issues is the catalogue number. The other numbers contain announcements
that are of interest to our patrons.
The Bulletin will be mailed regularly to any one who will indicate a
desire for it. The College desires to keep its friends informed of its
The Optimist is a college paper published by the students. In the
past it has been a monthly paper. At the opening of this session it will
be a weekly paper.
The Prickly Pear is the College Annual. It is a neat book, and
reflects all sides of college life from its more serious phases to the
jokes and pranks which grow out of warm friendship and good will.
A. C. C. Bible Lectures
This is a book containing the lectures which are delivered during
the Lecture Week. The first volume will come from the press early
in July of this year.
