38 ABILENE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
Fourth.-Each student will be required to make before graduation
thirty-six courses at least nine of which must be advanced with an
average grade of at least B, and in addition two hundred points.
Additional courses will be required of all students who fail to make
the required number of points, or who fail to make the average
grade. The number of courses required will be determined by the
grade and points made on the additional work. Enough courses will
be required to satisfy the fourth requirement. above.
Fifth.-Each student will be required to write a thesis of not less
than 5,000 words on some phase of his major subject. The outline
must be approved by the professor in charge not later than March 15,
of his senior year, and, the final copy of the thesis submitted to the
committee not later than May 15, of the same year. A type-written
copy of the thesis must be left in the library.
Sixth.-If we know it, we will not grant the B. A. Degree to any
student who is a cigarette fiend.
o;+I' ~ CERTIFICATES
The permanent State certificate which is valid for life and in any
part of the State, will be conferred by the State Department of Education,
upon the student who has satisfied the requirements for the
Bachelor of Arts Degree and who has taken as many as seven and
two-fifths courses in the Department of Education of the College.
The first grade State certificate will be conferred upon any student
who takes as many as two courses in education, has twelve
entrance units, and seven other college courses.
