SOME RE GULATION'
We shall not give here a long list of rules and regulations. A few
are essential, however, and will be kindly but firmly maintained:
1. Boarding students will not be permitted to spend a night away
from their regular boarding places.
2. Students may not board outside of our own buildings until
after these buildings are full, and then only at places approved by the
faculty. We cannot be responsible for students who are kept in homes
which will not co-operate with us in the enforcement of our rules and
regulations. We reserve the right to move any student at any time.
3. Students must not leave the campus during schools hours without
permission from a member of the faculty.
4. Halls and stairways must be quiet and free from disturbances
at all times. After 7 p. m. the students' homes will be kept quiet, so
as to afford full opportunity to study. After 7 p. m. there must be
no visiting from room to room. The time from 7 p. m. to 10:30 p. rr
is meant for study, and students must not waste their time nor that
of others in idleness or frivolity.
5. Students will be permitted to go to town on Saturday from
4 to 6 p. m. and on Monday.
6. The furniture and buildings must be properly cared for. Nails,
tacks or pins must not be driven in walls or woodwork. All damage
must be paid for.
7. Meals served out of the dining room will be ten cents extra.
8. Visitors, except parents, will pay board at the usual rates.
Students must not invite company at any time without permission.
9. There must be no visiting from room to room from 8 o'clock
a. m. to 3:30 p. m.
10. Tobacco must not be used in any form by students attending
Abilene Christian College. If you have the tobacco habit you will do
well to break off before coming. Alcoholic drinks, cards, profanity,
vulgarity and other such vices will not be tolerated on the campus at
any time. If you have been indulging in these things and are not
willing to leave them off do not come to Abilene Christian College.
You will do no good for yourself and you will injure others. We are
willing to help you if you will help yourself. Otherwise you will be
11. Students will not be allowed to open accounts in Abilene
without written permission from their parents. Charge accounts lead
to the spending of too much money and needless trouble otherwise.
Young people shauld be taught to economize and to pay cash or to wait.
