Every student of Abilene Christian College is required to study
For the young men who want to prepare themselves to "preach
the word" and any others who may wish to avail themselves of an
opportunity to become more efficient workers in the church of Jesus
Christ we offer four special courses for the completion of which we
grant certificates and diplomas. Our four years Classical Course
represents the same amount of work required in the best "Seminaries"
for the degree of "Th. M."
President Wilson has sent out an appeal to young men urging
them to study for the ministry. There never was a greater demand
for well educated, trained, practical preachers of the gospel. No
other field of activity offers greater opportunities for real service to
humanity; the world is calling for men, for workmen that will study
to show themselves "approved unto God" and that need not be
ashamed, "handling aright the word of truth."
It is our aim to help consecrated men understand the simple
gospel of the Son of God and to present God's message to man in all of
its purity and power, "speaking the truth in love." Such a training
will avoid harmful class distinction and mere professionalism, but, on
the contrary, will enable a preacher to "become all things to all men,"
Without the sacrifice of a single principle of truth and righteousness;
it will enlarge his sympathy and vision so that he can come down from
the mountain and having "compassion on the multitude" will go forth
"not to be ministered unto, but to minister." Young men who are
ashamed of work and who are not willing to endure hardness as good
soldiers need not apply.
NOTE.-Students graduating from our Junior College or another of
the same rank who wish to complete their A. B. courses and at the same
time do work in our Bibla DenTrtent, may take classes at Simmons
College, one of the best Senior Colleges in the United States.
This college is located on the North side of Abilene, about two
miles from A. C. C., and accessible by electric street car.
