ABILENE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
No training is too good for this complex age. It doesn't matter so
much what school you attend, what you study while there, or what
courses you have finished, as it does who were your teachers, who
were your school-mates, and what were your general surroundings.
A good, live, enthusiastic, thoroughly moral Christian teacher may do
more for you in one day's association with you than your mastering
a college course would do. If the teacher can touch the mind of the
pupil and arouse him to an active realization of his possibilities and
responsibilities, he has accomplished a greater work than the teacher
who drills his pupils in Latin idioms, Greek verbs, historical facts, or
mathematical curves. Not only what is taught, but who is teaching,
and how he is teaching and living-these two are important conditions.
Young man, young lady, do you know your own possibilities? It is
not more talent you need, but the harmonious development of the
talent you have guided and sustained by a steadfast purpose to
accomplish something in the world. Do you realize the needs of your
future life? If so, you will not be satisfied a moment without such
an education as we are able to give you. With a liberal education the
future is bright, without it the future is gloomy. Great possibilities
are before you. Will you let us help you? Then,
Be with us at the opening, September 17, 1918, if possible. However
you may enter any day. Further information cheerfully given.
