of crime and criminals, methods of punishment and present
reform, reformation of criminals and the prevention of crime
through education and religious training.

problems. A criticism of housing conditions, educational, social

of the natives of Africa and Australia and certain other savages
or barbaric people will be considered, together with the occurence
of their characteristics in modern social life. This course
undertakes a true interpretation of the causes for social conditions
as they are found among savage people and as they recur in

335.-The American Negro. A study of the history and racial
characteristics of the American Negro; his present social, economic,
political, educational and religious status. The attitude of
the South and the North toward the negro and the outlook for
the solution of the negro problem will be considered.
375.-Educational Sociology. This course offers an interpretation
of the nature, process, institutions and problems of
education in terms of their social relations. A consideration of
child and adolescent mind, together with the best methods of
educating and socializing the student is presented.

a study of the teaching of the Old Testament as it applies to present
day problems. The family, marriage, divorce, property
rights, treatment of the poor, place and rights of woman, attitude
toward children, law, crime, punishment, education and religion
