(1) Sewing for rural schools: First principles of hand and
machine sewing, drafting and use of commercial patterns; methods

215.-Making the Rural School Function.
This course is a study of the various community activities that
are usually found in the country districts and how the rural school
may assist in these. In other words an attempt will be made in
the course to show how the school can function very effectively
in the life of the community as a whole and thus bring new life
and interest to itself. The course will consist of lectures, class
reports of assigned topics and a short paper.
373.-Rural Teacher Preparation.
The course is a study of the present agencies and methods
used to train rural teachers in the United States. Attention will
also be given to the legal background of rural-teacher preparation.
There will be lectures, class reports and discussions and
